The Health Factor
Do you know someone whose health issues inconvenience others?
8 years ago I was diagnosed with a lung disease, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (www.alpha1.org). I’ve never smoked so how could that happen?
Alpha-1 is genetic. It took several doctors and their misdiagnoses to be accurately identified. For years medications had been prescribed for bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, COPD, and other lung ailments. The symptoms persisted intermittently.

It’s Sunday morning. Once again my husband and I were unable to go out to our own church due to his health. We watched the service at First Baptist Church on television.  Pastor Jim Somerville’s message was “The Heart of Christianity:Reconciliation.” www.fbcrichmond.org. His presentation of a modern day prodigal son and a father’s love was dramatically poignant. I can still picture the intensity on the faces of two young boys in the congregation.  Perhaps they were brothers sitting with their father.  I imagine their lives will forever be impacted, along with others.
